EFFECTIVE SKIN TREATMENTS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Wrinkles are a natural part of aging that, sooner or later, we all need to face. Although they may be associated with wisdom and maturity, most people would rather not have them. Wrinkles associated with age are located on the face, neck, and backs of the hands. These parts of the body are also most exposed to the sun, and, therefore, possible sun damage.
AWith the progression of science and the development of new and innovative ways to reduce the signs of aging, many are striving to restore their youthful looking skin to look as good as they feel on the inside.

CAUSES OF WRINKLES ON FACE
Wrinkles are divided into two main categories: fine surface lines (most often caused by sun exposure) and deep furrows (associated with muscle contractions). Many factors can contribute to the onset of the skin’s wrinkling process. Here are some known causes of wrinkles:
Aging Skin - Ignoring Wrinkles are most often associated with aging skin. As skin ages, cells divide at a slower pace and the dermis (the inner layer of the skin) begins to thin, thus causing a reduction in skin elasticity. Concurrently, aging skin becomes increasingly deprived of its natural moisture and oil, which makes it slower to heal. As a result, aging skin inevitably becomes wrinkled.
Genetics - A person’s skin type and heredity can determine the probability and the time at which wrinkles will be developed. For example, light colored skin is more vulnerable and prone to skin damage.
Sun Exposure - Most of the visible signs of aging are caused by sun exposure. UV rays from the sun are the number one cause of wrinkles and other signs of aging such as, brown spots, freckles, uneven pigmentation, and the loss of skin firmness and elasticity.

Facial Muscle Contractions - Deep furrows are often associated with facial muscle contractions. Facial expressions such as frowning, squinting or even smiling, will make these wrinkles more noticeable.
Lifestyle Circumstances - Poor diet, dehydration, alcohol abuse, and smoking are all factors that accelerate the skin’s aging process, therefore causing more wrinkles at a faster rate.

TYPES OF WRINKLES
Even wrinkles have their own name—after all, not all facial wrinkles are the same! Here is a list of your most common type of wrinkles:
-
Crow’s Feet - These are fine lines that radiate outward on the side of the eye.
-
Forehead Wrinkles - As their name indicates, these are long, stubborn lines on the forehead, above the eyebrows.
-
Frown Lines - Lines between the eyes and eyebrows
-
Nasolabial Folds - Also known as smile or laugh lines, these are the folds that run down from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth.
-
Marionette Lines - Folds that run the corners of the mouth down to the chin.
-
Tear Troughs - Folds extending from the inner corner of the eye, causing the appearance of eye bags or dark shadows under the eye.
-
Bunny Lines - Distinctive lines that appear at the side and upper part of the nose.
-
Mental Crease - One or several creases that rest between the lower lip and the chin.
TREATMENT OPTIONS
There are several treatment options for fine lines and wrinkles, depending on the cause and severity of the condition. The first step would be to schedule a free consultation with us, to find out the underlying cause of fine lines and wrinkles. A thorough skin analysis provided by our trained professionals will determine the ideal wrinkle treatment that suits your specific needs. This can include, but is not limited to:
BOTOX - Botulinum Toxin, or more commonly known as Botox®, has proven its efficacy in treating fine lines and wrinkles in a non-invasive, safe manner. Using an ultra-thin applicator, the aesthetic professional will inject Botox® into the affected area. This wrinkle treatment prevents involuntary muscle contractions, avoiding the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Botox® works as a preferred wrinkle treatment by many medical aesthetics professionals as it properly relaxes muscles in areas where there is significant repeated muscle movement.

DERMAL FILLERS - Dermal fillers are a minimally invasive treatment to create and restore volume to your skin that is lost through the aging process, or through improper care. They can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, treat facial volume loss, and act as an anti-aging treatment for facial rejuvenation.

MEDICAL-GRADE SKINCARE - Sun exposure can worsen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. At Rejuvenus Clinic, we always advise using sunscreen as an effective treatment option. Our range of medical-grade sunscreen products, such as the Elta MD has an all-mineral skin shield that provides broad-spectrum protection. It is available in different shades to accommodate all skin types and colours, and has an SPF 50 UVB protection.
LASER TREATMENTS - Priding itself as the world’s first hybrid fractional laser, this skincare technology combines tunable non-ablative and ablative wavelengths to give a deep dermal rejuvenation and epidermal renewal. It restores the skin’s radiance and gives off a youthful glow. It also decreases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands. It is an effective wrinkle treatment that encourages collagen production as it penetrates the innermost layers of the skin.

Here is a list of our Frequently Asked Questions. If you have any other questions or concerns, our experts will provide you will all the information you need.
How Can I Prevent Wrinkles & Fine Lines?
It is impossible to prevent getting facial wrinkles. Wrinkles are a natural part of aging. There are however ways to delay and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Opting for a healthy diet, avoiding excess sun exposure, and applying sunscreen (even in the winter) are all great habits to adopt. Preventative skin rejuvenation treatments are also a good way to delay the signs of aging. At Rejuvenus we can help you to develop a plan to keep your skin looking flawless as you age.
How Do You Get Rid Of Deep Wrinkles?
When it comes to treating deeper wrinkles, we still use the combineese approach. Deeper wrinkles still rely on skincare products, neuromodulators (Botox-like meds), fillers and peels, microneedling, or lasers. The difference is deeper wrinkles usually require more treatments and often need a more aggressive treatment plan with more fillers and a deeper laser treatment. The lighter to medium type of treatments would require a series of treatments.
What Are My Treatment Options?
Treatment options depend on the patient’s condition, lifestyle and overall needs. Our specialized team will be able to recommend a personalized treatment program that will best suit you. Top priority is to identify the type of wrinkle (dynamic or statis) in order to find the best way to treat it. Whether you want to learn more about products to help prevent wrinkles or you want suggestions for how to turn back the clock, the Rejuvenus team is here to help.
Can Wrinkles Be Reversed?
While it may not be able to fully erase the signs of aging, they are often able to significantly improve the overall appearance of the skin by using one or a combination of treatments customized to your individual needs. Depending on the number of fine lines and wrinkles, depth, and amount of sun exposure, wrinkles may require multiple treatments, but amazing results can often be achieved. Once you “get skin fit” you can “stay skin fit” with an excellent maintenance program.
What Is The Best Non-surgical Treatment For Wrinkles?
It depends on the type and etiology of the wrinkle. All wrinkles and texture will improve with a medical-grade skin care program. This is the best, safest, and most cost-effective way to treat the skin no matter what is causing the texture changes on the skin. We approach aging changes on the skin with a combineese formulation. We use Botox, Dysport to slow down the muscle movement, fillers o help replace volume loss from aging, lifestyle, and the sun and then peels, microneedling, and/or lasers to “iron” the skin.
Are Treatments Safe?
At Rejuvenus Clinic, we aim to offer the most effective and innovative non-surgical cosmetic treatments . With our patients’ safety in mind, we ensure that our equipment is of the highest quality and our team is highly trained. Nevertheless, any treatment may still come with potential risks.
